Pilot Dies After IAF’s MiG-21 Aircraft Crashes Near Punjab’s Moga


In a tragic incident, a pilot of the Indian Air Power died after sustaining deadly accidents following a MiG-21 plane crash close to Moga in Punjab within the wee hours of Friday.

The incident came about round 1 am on Friday when the Mig-21 of the IAF crashed at Langiana Khurd village of Baghapurana in Moga.

The incident was on a routine coaching sortie when the accident occurred, the air power officers stated. The IAF took to Twitter to increase their condolences for the bereaved household of the pilot.

A court docket of inquiry has been ordered to search out out the reason for the accident, IAF stated.

Notably, that is the third crash of a MiG-21 plane this yr. In March, a Group Captain of the IAF was killed in an accident involving a MiG-21 Bison plane at an airbase in central India. Earlier in January, a MiG-21 plane of the Indian Air Power had crashed close to Suratgarh in Rajasthan.
